Apple introduces new iPhone 15 Series, Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in an event. One of the major announcements is that Apple is using USB-C on iPhone 15 series and ditches the lightning cable.
It seems that most of the rumored details are correct. One of them that did not come true is that Apple is going change iPhone 15 Pro Max to maybe iPhone 15 Pro Ultra? That did not happen.
Overall, a short event that lasted about an hour and a half with not a lot of surprises (BTW, I am not surprised at the announcement at all). Definitely, Apple iPhone 15 Series is going to the best iPhone currently. Let us dive into the summary.
Major things that change on the iPhone 15 are: USB-C port to replace Lightning Port, customizable button to replace ringer silent switch, new Satellite features (for some countries) (Emergency SOS via Satellite, Location sent by Satellite, Roadside assistance by Satellite) to better connectivity and lastly, Find My is now able to locate friends accurately. It has a new ceramic shield for the glass but I have little details of it.
There is also one feature that I like is the noise cancelling feature when you are in a busy place. Seems like Apple has added this feature that you can turn on or off during a call.
In general, all cameras are upgraded. One of the newer features will be the Portrait mode. It has auto portrait where it detects a human (cat or dog) and immediately change it to portrait mode. And it has another feature that allows you to change the depth of field, focus and etc after you have taken the picture.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Series
It has two models – The iPhone 15 Pro (6.1-inch) and the iPhone 15 Pro Max (6.7-inch). What are the new things? It has a new Grade 5 titanium outer casing. It comes with USB-C (USB 3) with 10 Gigabits transfer rate. it has ProMotion for really good gaming purposes (Better Ray Tracing and high FPS). And it comes with the new A17 Pro Bionic chipset that has 3nm technology.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
For cameras, it has the same 48 MPX main camera but with better specs. For the iPhone 15 Pro Max, it has 5x Optical Zoom and the iPhone 15 Pro comes with 3x Optical Zoom. The 5x Optical Zoom is achievable based on a new Prism design to refract the lights into the sensor. I believe this technology is similar to other brands with periscope design. Apple to able to achieve the 5x optical zoom because it refracts the light 4x before reaching the sensor.
